La Digue Island Lodge, is the most photographed island in the Seychelles;
laid back La Digue is a rustic retreat just 30 minutes by ferry
from Praslin. White soft sandy beaches are strewn with granite rocks;
turquoise seas filled with coral and fish; and quaint island roads
traversed
by ox carts and bicycles.
Local
transport being Ox drawn cart
Unwind
in Paradise - The pace of life is slow to
slower, so it's impossible not to relax. The resort's tropical gardens,
spacious pool and gorgeous beach will help. Even dining is a relaxed
affair, with bare-foot Creole buffets in Le Pecheur restaurant.
Visits to the Copper Factory and plantations at nearby L'Union Estate
are recommended, as trips to the photogenic Source D'Argent beach.
Pool
and Pool Bar
Island
Chalets - The island's main hotel, La Digue
Island Lodge has just 54 rooms. The best are it's charming ' A '
frame chalets, built of Takamaka wood and thatched with Latanier
leaves. These are spread throughout the gardens with easy access
to the beach. Featuring en suite bathrooms and private terraces,
Superior Rooms offer a second bedroom - ideal for families with
younger children.
Our
Opinion
Picturesque
and charming, La Digue Island Lodge is truly '
Paradise'
although still very popular with
families with older children, offering
great beaches and
calm seas.
