Seychelles - Islands' Information

Seychelles - Just a Few Facts

Among the estimated 115 coral islands that make up the Seychelles, are some of the most beautiful island hideaways, getaways, in the Indian Ocean or indeed the World.

Here in the Seychelles you can find the lush tropical paradise you may have seen in the seductive glossy magazines and travel brochures, if the idea is to relax sipping your cocktail on a palm-fringed tropical beach appeals to you, then the Seychelles is probably the very place to win over your heart.

Most visitors to the Seychelles make a visit to the main island of Mahe for a day or two - then settle down to the more peace and easy-going-life of the glorious beaches and exotic resorts such as Praslin,
Saint Anne etc.

The Seychelles are not a cheap holiday - for one thing, most of the islands' produce and needs (including hotel staff), have to be brought onto the islands - therefore transportation costs are a serious expense and for those operating businesses, such costs have to be passed onto their clients - those with shallow pockets should think carefully and seek advice before venturing on such a location as 'the Seychelles' for a holiday.

Those fortunate enough to be able to visit - then you are in for a real treat !

The Seychelles lies outside the cyclone zone, June to October
are possibly the better months to visit although the temperature is an almost constant 24 - 30 degrees throughout the year.

When to go - depends on what one likes to do, for diving
March to May and then September to November is generally
accepted as being the better months.
If one like to bathe topless, there are secluded beaches which one can find.

Tourism is the mainstay of the islands' economy, with English and French being the official languages.

Twin-Centre holidays are very popular (ie) - Mauritius with the Seychelles - or a Safari in South Africa with the Seychelles, whatever your needs you can always ....
