CLIMATE

Zimbabwe's climate is ideal for safaris with dry winters bringing cool mornings and evenings, and hot summers. For game viewing, the dry season (June to November) is recommended, as wildlife concentrates around watering points.

Temperatures begin to climb during September, which combines good wildlife viewing with spring vegetation. For scenic beauty, the arrival of the rainy season, which lasts from November to March, does much to relieve the hot temperatures. This is a time of lush new growth and vegetation, a time to watch the new born animals.

For comfort, March to May is perhaps the ideal time to travel. Temperatures moderate, the climate is warm and dry, and the bush is still fresh and green from the rains.

HEALTH

You can put aside many of the health fears that may be justified in some parts of Africa. Zimbabwe has a high standard of medical facilities, and the sunny, dry climate and unpolluted air suit most people. Although no inoculations are required, it is wise to make sure that your polio, cholera, typhoid, hepatitis A & B and tetanus injections are up to date.

Yellow fever inoculations are necessary if you have come from a country where the disease is endemic, such as Kenya and Tanzania. Malaria tablets must be taken two weeks prior to your visit and should be continued for one month after returning home.

NAMES ON AIR TICKETS

Airlines are very strict in checking that the air ticket and passport read identical names. It is important when booking to give us the name that will be reflected in your passport at time of travel. Should we have to reissue tickets this will incur an amendment fee.

INSURANCE

We strongly advise passengers to take travel insurance covering personal accident, medical expenses, baggage and loss of deposit or part of the tour fare through cancellation or flight delay. Paramount Travel can arrange this at a very competitive price.

SPECIAL REQUESTS

If you have a special request for diet etc, please indicate them clearly on your booking form and we will pass these on to the lodge. However these request cannot be guaranteed and any costs are payable locally. Should you want specific seats booked on the aircraft for your flight we are happy to pass these requests on to the airline. However we cannot guarantee specific seats and the airline has the authority to change seating anytime.
